Alce Idiomas-The Asturias Language College is a boutique language school founded in 1983 by its owner, a passionate language teacher who is extremely enthusiastic about education, tuition and cultural awareness worldwide. The school is located within a ten minute walk from the city centre, in a quiet and safe residential area, close to the biggest university campus and just opposite the most avant-garde architectural complex, which houses The Oviedo City Convention Centre, a four-star-premium hotel and a modern shopping centre. Our facilities are homely and comfortable with all our classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards, cutting-edge projectors and computers.
♦ We focus on delivering top quality face-to-face Spanish Language training in really small groups (3/6 adult students, 3/10 juniors), using the latest student-centred teaching methodology and state-of-the-art facilities.
♦ All our teachers are university graduates with wide experience in teaching Spanish to multinational groups. They strive for their students’ success and improvement in the Spanish language, in an efficient and friendly atmosphere. Their lessons are interesting, motivating, dynamic and productive.
♦ We provide excellent students’ care, guidance and support. Our school management, the administrative and teaching teams are always available to advise and guide our students for the duration of their stay. At Alce Idiomas we never forget that every individual has specific needs and requirements and we work hard to fulfill them.
EXCELLENT ACCOMMODATION: homestay, residential, self-catering apartments, hotels, etc.
ENGLISH, GERMAN, FRENCH, ITALIAN, PORTUGUESE AND CHINESE classes are also offered at our school in Oviedo, all the year round. And we complement these providing a wide range of courses, stays, internship, work placements and AuPair in Asturias and in The UK.
One of our former teachers’ opinion on our school
“I was asked to write some words about Alce Idiomas – The Asturias Language College. I won’t go into expounding and discussing minutely my experience in Alce as an English teacher. Such an effort would by large fall outside the scope and limits by any reasonable (not to mention feasible) presentation. I will therefore concentrate on showing why this college represents a good opportunity to learn foreign languages.
First, Mrs Soledad Valles gives proof of a fine eye for internal balance in the selection of the students and teachers.
Secondly, this college contains a hoard of fresh and innovative ideas on teaching.
On the practical side, the intellectual stimulation for thinking and the library for taking contact with books are invaluable for a young student’s development. Nor should I neglect to mention the practical pieces of advice which teachers give to their students. Alce Idiomas, therefore, may be a rich resource in providing a large volume of information through its teachers.
To conclude: Mrs Soledad Valles has produced an impressive effort in conducting this college. She deserves appraisal for this achievement, as well as the rest of teachers, not only in the Asturias academic scene, but in broader international context. It is my personal opinion that this college will turn out to be a much-known Spanish college over the next few years, and I can think of no higher sign of estimation for such a college than the intimate conviction that it shall often be mentioned by many students.”
